One vote goes a long way when it comes to the wellbeing of retired working dogs.
Retired Working Dogs (RWD), a charity that started in Feilding and now works nationwide to re-home retired or injured farm/working dogs, has been chosen for Z’s ‘Good in the Hood’ initiative.
Sanson’s Z service station will have tokens for customers to nominate a charity with – RWD is one of 4 that will share in $4000.
The charity has helped both dogs and farmers for over 10 years, proudly finding over 1700 working dogs their happy pet homes once their careers are over.
While initially starting as a few individuals in Manawatū, it has now expanded, with volunteers and foster homes all over the country.
The group also covers surgeries for injured dogs, rehabilitation costs and fostering for dogs who need a temporary home while they wait for their new family.
Helen Sheard, the charity’s local Trustee and vet, is stoked that RWD has been chosen as one of the charities.
“By voting for us at Z Sanson, you are directly helping us rehome more of these hard working dogs who are such an important part of our rural ecosystem.”
Use your token and vote for Retired Working Dogs at Z Sanson from August 26 to September 22.
