The Bitches’ Box, known for their uproarious comedy performances in rural settings, are taking their off-beat humour to urban audiences throughout New Zealand. Starting in Hamilton on Saturday, August 17, this comedic duo is set to bring their unique brand of entertainment to the four main town centres of Hamilton, Arrowtown, Hastings and Christchurch.
Featuring iconic dog characters and a hilarious romp through a local farm setting, The Bitches’ Box: Episode 4 show promises to deliver the same wild and zany antics that fans have come to love, as Emma Newborn and Amelia Dunbar seamlessly transition between characters with lightning speed, offering a glimpse into the whimsical world of our four-legged friends.
“This is not your average comedy show,” Newborn said. “We pride ourselves on bringing something unexpected and delightfully bonkers to our audience.”
In an effort to raise funds to complete their first feature film, Sons of a Bitch, they are hosting the four shows as a special fundraising event that promises to be both entertaining and impactful. When the pandemic halted their touring schedule, The Bitches’ Box saw it as a chance to bring their beloved characters to life in a whole new way. With 60% of Sons of a Bitch already filmed, they are now turning to their dedicated fans and supporters for help in finishing what is sure to be a unique cinematic experience.
The live show will not only include a performance of The Bitches’ Box: Episode 4, but also a support act from Australian comedian Tessa Waters. Attendees will also get an exclusive sneak peek at footage from Sons of a Bitch, giving them a taste of what’s in store when the film is completed.
“We believe that laughter has the power to bring people together and create lasting memories,” Dunbar said.
“By supporting this fundraiser, you’re not just helping us finish our film – you’re joining us on an exciting journey towards creating something truly unique.”
